The Willing Hearted Youth Initiative

Community Focused. Youth Empowerment.

The Willing Hearted Youth Initiative offers a unique opportunity for young people to gain valuable experience, develop crucial life skills, and make a tangible difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities. We provide a platform for volunteerism, financial literacy, and a strong sense of purpose, all while fostering intergenerational connections and supporting those in need.

Serving Seniors & the Disabled: 'Odds and Ends' Jobs

Our youth participants offer a variety of services to seniors and individuals with disabilities on a free or ‘pay-what-you-can’ basis. This allows us to provide affordable assistance while empowering youth to earn and manage their own money. Examples of these services include:

  • Yard work: Mowing lawns, raking leaves, weeding gardens
  • Basic repairs: Light carpentry, painting
  • Tech help: Assisting with computers, smartphones, and other technology
  • Home organization: Decluttering and organizing living spaces
  • Seasonal help: Holiday decorations, snow shoveling, etc.
Generating Revenue: Serving the Community

To ensure the sustainability of our program and provide additional financial opportunities for our program, we offer a range of revenue-generating services to the general community and local businesses for a donation:

  • Pop-up cleaning crews: Offering cleaning services for homes and businesses
    • Clearing storage units
    • Clearing estate sales
  • Grass Cutting: Basic lawncare for homes & businesses
  • Event support: Assisting with event setup, takedown, and logistics
  • Fundraising car washes: Organizing and running car wash events
  • Recycling pickup: Collecting and recycling materials
  • Custom art projects: Creating artwork for homes or businesses
Funding & Job Opportunities: Partnering with the Community

We actively seek partnerships and support from a variety of community organizations and businesses to fund our program and provide job opportunities for our youth participants. We encourage support from:

  • Local businesses
  • Churches
  • Credit unions
  • Funeral homes
  • Pharmacies
  • Small businesses
